If your clinical sites place students through ACEMAPP, you are probably not replacing it, and you shouldn’t try. ACEMAPP is a product of Michigan Health Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, (source) and describes itself as a collaborative platform for clinical placements, compliance and recruitment. It began in 2008 to share scarce clinical rotation places in southeast Michigan and now coordinates educational experiences nationwide. (source) This page is about the work around it: tracking every requirement your program sets, and doing the drug screens, background checks and fit tests themselves.
What ACEMAPP does, in its own words
- Placements and rotations. ACEMAPP Collaboration lets schools, clinical sites and partners connect, schedule rotations, manage compliance and share data securely. (source) A school needs an active partnership with a clinical site before it can request a rotation there. (source)
- Site requirements. Students and clinical faculty see a clinical site’s requirements once they are assigned to a rotation. (source)
- ACEMAPP Assure. A document review service that collects, stores and reviews requirements, including background check and drug screen results, immunizations and other requested documents. (source)
- Screening vendors it connects to. ACEMAPP’s help center lists integrations with Advantage Students (InfoMart), Verify Students (Corporate Screening), QualifiedFirst (Verified Credentials) and Complio (American DataBank). (source) Its own article on connecting Complio recommends Assure instead, to reduce the need for third-party tools. (source)
- Membership fee. ACEMAPP publishes an annual membership fee of $50 per member, per year, which the student or the school may pay; Assure is priced separately. (source)
- Case and time logs for documenting clinical encounters and hours. (source)
Where Drug Free Schools fits alongside it
- We are not a placement network. We don’t schedule rotations between schools and hospitals, and we don’t integrate with ACEMAPP. If your sites run placements there, keep using it for that.
- We do the screening itself. On-campus drug screening events that clear a cohort in one visit, 10- to 12-panel screens at Quest, Checkr background checks and N95 fit testing. ACEMAPP reviews results from its integrated vendors; it does not describe running the tests.
- We track the program’s whole list. Your program’s requirements, with its own renewal rules, every upload reviewed within 24 hours, and email and text reminders before anything expires, in our clinical compliance tracking portal.
- Students keep their records. Students can download all of their documents in one zip file at any time.
One honest caution: whether a clinical site accepts screening results from a vendor that isn’t integrated with ACEMAPP is up to that site and your affiliation agreement. Ask your sites before you change screening vendors.

The honest recommendation
If every one of your clinical sites works through ACEMAPP and Assure covers the documents your program needs, you may not need another tracker. If your program has requirements of its own, sites outside the network, or students who need drug screens, background checks and fit tests done, use ACEMAPP for placements and get a quote from us for the tracking and screening.
