Typhon Group makes student tracking systems for health education programs: All Health (AHST), Nursing (NSST), Anesthesia (NAST), Physician Assistant (PAST) and Advanced Practice (NPST). (source) Each product includes eight customizable core modules, including case and time logs, evaluations, scheduling, curriculum mapping, student portfolios, competency tracking and document management, and Typhon says more than 1,100 programs use its products. (source) The All Health system lists specialties from physical and occupational therapy to sonography, radiography, surgical technology and dental hygiene. (source)
For case logs and clinical evaluations, Typhon is a well-established choice. The question for most programs is narrower: who reviews compliance documents and who runs the drug screens and background checks?
How Typhon handles screening
Typhon stores immunization and compliance documents, and for background checks, drug screenings and immunization monitoring it points programs to its partner DISA Healthcare Technology (formerly Complio and CastleBranch) to outsource and integrate that work. (source) So a Typhon program that wants document review and screening usually adds a second vendor.
When to look at an alternative for the compliance part
- You want the review done for you. Every upload in our clinical compliance tracking portal is reviewed within 24 hours, with the exact reason and what to upload instead.
- You want the screening performed, not only stored. We run on-campus drug screening events, Quest screens, Checkr background checks and N95 fit testing, and the results land in the same student record.
- You want published prices. Typhon prices by quote: a school subscription plus one-time per-student pricing, and some schools have students pay Typhon directly. (source) (source) Ours are on our pricing page.
- You want to keep Typhon for case logs. That works. We don’t integrate with Typhon, but many programs run case logs in one system and compliance in another.
